Marathon To Snickers

Who cares if this bar of chocolatey nutty goodness was called Snickers everywhere BUT the UK. If you were British in the 80s you went out to buy a Marathon bar. Twenty years later and that's what we still call it, so deal with it.

Opal Fruits To Starburst

Opal Fruits were a staple in our childhood, so you can imagine our despair when they announced in 1998 they would changing their name to Starburst. We're still bitter about this.

Coco Pops to Choco Krispies then Cocoa Pops (AGAIN)

We all know the song... "I'd rater have a bowl of... Choco Krispies?!" What? Safe to say this name change in 1998 didn't go down well with punters, and after a public vote it was changed back to Coco Pops. Pfft! Too right!

4

Jif To Cif

Apparently the whole of Europe had been calling Jif, Cif for ages so the UK followed suit in 2001 for brand consistency reasons. A decade later and we're STILL not having it... It's JIF okay?

5

Royal Mail to Consignia

We hated this name change SO much, they had to change it back! If you remember, Royal Mail briefly changed the name of Post Offices to Consignia back in 2001 at a reported cost of 1.5 million... but it only lasted a year.
