Show: Twin Peaks: The Return

Rating: IMDB (8.6), Rotten Tomatoes (94%)
Twin Peaks originally aired for only two seasons in the early 90s, but it instantly became a cult classic. Fans of the original were overcome with nostalgia when Twin Peaks: The Return aired 27 years after the original, with a majority of the cast returning to reprise their roles. The original Twin Peaks centered on an investigation into the murder of the homecoming queen. Twin Peaks: The Return is a work of art, as it is a continuation of the original, but with a slew of modern twists.
Show: American Vandal
Network: Netflix
Rating: IMDB (8.2), Rotten Tomatoes (97%)
American Vandal is dark and funny at the same time. It’s a satirical show about a true-life crime that left 27 cars vandalized with phallic images. This mockumentary covers the investigation of a troubled teen. As the investigation continues, things get more interesting, and at the end of the show you will be left asking the same question everyone else was.

American Gods tells the story of Shadow, who is just days away from being released from prison only to find out that his wife has passed away. On his way home, he meets a stranger by the name of Mr. Wednesday, who knows more about Shadow then he should. Show: Legion
Network: FX
Rating: IMDB (8.5), Rotten Tomatoes (90%)
Imagine being diagnosed as being schizophrenic, placed in a mental hospital, and tortured by demons who only exist in your mind (or do they)? This show tells the story of David Heller, who has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals until he a chance encounter with a fellow patient. This leads to a realization of superpowers, and that the voices and visions which were considered hallucinations are actually real. The most enjoyable aspect of the show is that it doesn't follow the typical formula of other superhero-based TV shows.
Show: Loudermilk
Network: Audience Network
Rating: IMDB (7.2), Rotten Tomatoes (91%)
Imagine my surprise when I came across a little gem of a show that I would have overlooked if I weren’t an AT&T Uverse Internet subscriber. As such, I get free access to the Audience Network. Loudermilk tells the story of Sam Loudermilk, a former substance abuse counselor and recovering alcoholic who vents his frustration to everyone he meets. With his drinking under control, Sam learns that getting sober is the easy part when it comes to fixing his life.

Ozark tells the tale of a money launderer with ties to a drug cartel who saves his family with the promise of huge returns by laundering the cartel’s money in Ozark, MO. The family relocates there, only to face the unknown dangers of the wilderness and the people who inhabit the town. The show had me hooked, due to unforeseen complications, and the methods in which the main character manages them.
Show: Santa Clarita Diet

It’s been a while since we had the opportunity to see Drew Barrymore in action. This is no longer the case, thanks to Santa Clarita Diet. It really takes off after the fourth episode.
