Having never blogged or encountered 'WordPress' before it took me a longtime to get my head around the functionalities of the platform, but I believe I have sucessfully created, not only a portfolio of my work, but a learning tool for others protected by Creative Commons.
During Topic 3 in which 'online profiles' were discussed at great length I decided to create a Tutora page. As a prospective teacher I thought it would be a vital assest to my CV to gain some first hand teaching experince, as well as being able to develop yet another online profile.
I cannot believe I didn't already have a LinkedIn profile so I am eternally grateful for the module in illustrating the importance of having a digital profile. Although the level of professionalism exhibited by my Linkedin profile at the start was questionable, upon learning from my peers in Topic 3 I was able to reflect and make the necessary changes required.
While I did already have a Twitter account I saw it as imperative that I keep my 'personal' and 'professional' profiles seperate (clearly applicable when you consider some of the stupid Tweets I would post) however through Topic 3, 4 and 5 I was able to come to my own conclusion, as well as learning from my peers work (not to mention my personal Twitter profile being found by a member of staff) that having seperate profiles has little or no benefit whatsoever.
