Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park

You should visit the Kruger National Park!

Kruger National Park measures an impressive 18,989 square kilometers and as a result it is the largest game reserve in South Africa. Kruger is home to the widest selection of mammal species in Africa and with the chance to spot the big 5, a range of bird species and to be able to view a diverse collection of landscapes from mountains, to bush plains, to tropical forests all in one National Park, it isn’t surprising that Kruger is described as a ‘must-see’ destination for those taking a trip to South Africa.

If you’d like to visit Kruger National Park and make a difference to the wildlife living there, take a look at Frontier’s Kruger Wildlife Sanctuary Project:

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park

You should visit Yellowstone National Park!

Yellowstone was first established as a National Park in 1872, making it the oldest one on the planet. Yellowstone is often referred to as the flagship of National Parks and it attracts millions of visitors each year. Stretching across 3,500 sq-miles, the park sits atop a volcanic hot spot and is home to dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, hot springs, geysers, forests and it is also home to hundreds of animal species. While you’re there, make sure you take the time to glance over Old Faithful, the most famous of Yellowstone’s geysers.

Galapagos Islands

Galapagos Islands

You should visit the Galapagos Islands!

The Galapagos Islands are a volcanic archipelago set in the Pacific Ocean, about 1000km off the coast of Ecuador. Perhaps one of the most famous National Parks in the world, the 19 islands that make up the Galapagos are often referred to as a ‘living museum and showcase of evolution’. Each island varies drastically and while one day you could be staring out onto a barren landscape, the next you could be resting on white sand beaches and swimming in crystal clear waters. The Galapagos served as the inspiration for Charles Darwins’ Theory of Evolution and with a distinct lack of predators, the national park has become a popular place to witness an array of stunning, wild creatures up close!

Make the most of your time there by hopping across to several of the islands, booking onto a tour or learning to dive in the gorgeous waters that surround the archipelago.

Cairngorms National Park

Cairngorms National Park

You should visit Cairngorms National Park!

Despite only being set up by the Scottish Parliament in 2003, Cairngorms is a worthy National Park to visit. As the largest park in the British Isles, Cairngorms is home to some of Britain’s most endangered species. Don’t be fooled into thinking that because this National Park is set in Scotland that there is a shortage of things to do; with the option to ski or snowboard down Cairngorm mountain, hike Ben Macdui the second highest peak in Britain, take a trip to Loch Morlich beach or take the mountain railway 1097m above sea level, there is plenty to keep you busy on your stay.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes National Park

You should visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia!

Plitvice Lakes National Park is the oldest national park in South East Europe and is famous for its chain of 16 terraced lakes, all adjoined by waterfalls that extend out into a limestone canyon. With views like the ones that Plitvice offer you’d be crazy to not to head out on one of the hiking trails that takes you around and across the waters while you’re in Croatia. However, if you’d rather something a little less strenuous and just as jaw-droppingly beautiful, then hop on a ferry across Lake Kozjak which will take you between the upper and lower lakes so that you can simply sit back and enjoy the view!

As you can see you don’t always have to travel across the world to experience beautiful spectacles and this isn’t all that Europe has to offer. If you’d like to explore more of Europe, take a look at the projects that Frontier has on offer:
