The unthinkable has happened. A doctor in Canada gave a patient who came in with breathing problems, the diagnosis of suffering from “climate change”. This is the first such recorded case of this in the world. But if we continue the way we are, it certainly won’t be the last. These celebrities are working to change this around and bring awareness to where it matters. Leonardo DiCaprio

In honor of November being his birthday month, let’s start with Leonardo DiCaprio who was named the United Nations Messenger of Peace for Climate Change in 2014 and has continued to be passionate about being an environmental activist since. He was most recently seen at the Glasgow COP26 summit where over 100 world leaders gathered to discuss climate change. Through his foundation, Leonardo has donated over $100 million towards this cause and has supported multiple world conservation projects that protect fragile ecosystems and endangered species.


Prince Charles

The Prince of Wales has been championing a sustainable future for 50 years now and has been a big advocate for sustainability. He has been working towards encouraging big businesses to adopt green initiatives, has launched several sustainability programs, and promotes the cause through his writings and speeches.


Gisele Bündchen

This Brazilian supermodel and environmentalist has been passionate about conserving the environment and sustainability for years now. In 2011, she won an online competition that earned her the title of ‘Best Green International Celebrity’and became the ‘United Nations Environment Program Goodwill Ambassador’ in 2019. 


Ben Affleck

In 2010, Ben Affleck co-founded the Eastern Congo Initiative to raise awareness of endangered natural resources in the region. He also partnered with Water.org, Matt Damon’s NGO to encourage clean water usage and programs in Africa, and made a series of videos to educate on the benefits of using alternative fuel sources.


Maroon 5

Since 2007, Maroon 5 has been on a mission to make their tours more sustainable, and Jesse Carmichael, the band's pianist and guitarist, has played a key role in this post seeing the piles of trash left behind after a show. The band teamed up with Guster guitarist and vocalist, Adam Gardner who founded Reverb, a not-for-profit environmental organization that works with musicians to reduce the environmental impact of their tours.


Shailene Woodley

Activist Shailene Woodley teamed up with Greenpeace and ventured out into the Sargasso Sea to address the issue of polluting the ocean with plastic. She is a staunch advocate for the U.N. and works at creating a treaty that aims to protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030. She has released videos taking a stand against deforestation, was arrested for protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline and has received awards for her commitment to environmental activism.


Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt established the ‘Make It Right Foundation’ back in 2006 to build environmentally-friendly homes for Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans., and since then has been a staunch climate change supporter and activist. He appeared on Jefferies Show some years ago playing the role of a concerned weatherman, and when asked about a future forecast, he said, “There is no future”.



Sting started the Rainforest Foundation Fund in 1988 along with his wife Trudie after he saw the remains of a fire in the Amazon from a plane. The couple was so alarmed at the manner in which rainforests were being destroyed that they launched the fund to help support those who live in and near the rainforests.
