All you Need to Know About an Insurance Adjuster

An insurance adjuster or claim adjuster is basically a middle person between you and the one from whom you have claimed your insurance. Insurance adjuster firms come in play when you file a lawsuit against someone, who is responsible for your damage or accident. So, the insurance adjuster is the one who will deal with you in such situations as the representative of that person’s insurance company. Sometimes, the insurance companies instead of handling the claim themselves via their own claim adjusters, call or refer to independent insurance adjuster firms. This generally happens when an insurance company does not have a claim office of their own in that particular local area.

No big difference

If you are thinking that there will be a difference in dealing with the case because the insurance adjuster is from some other firm, then you are wrong. The bank or liable insurance company hire licensed insurance claims adjuster of the area; so the hired insurance adjuster in a way work on the behalf of the insurance company. The independent insurance adjusters work in the same way as in-house insurance adjusters do. The only thing that differs is the limit of authority. The in-house insurance adjuster has greater authority in the sense that hired claim adjusters have to get the approval for the settlement amount by a claims supervisor or superior at an insurance company office. Nonetheless, the negotiation process for the amount remains the same.

How to decide who is better?

It is not necessary that the insurance company will always hire a claim adjuster, sometimes attorneys also do the same work. There is no need to be afraid or panic if an attorney handles your case because they do the same work although they may stall a little regarding the claim laws to mold the case in company's favor. But no need to worry because you can easily catch what is true and what is false.
It is not difficult to find a claim adjuster, but to find a good one depends on a few things:

* How quickly, meaning how less time they take to settle the claims - this is so because a claim adjuster gets many cases in a month, and they have to resolve those claims; this is known as closing a claim. If they fail to do so then it earns a bad reputation for them.

* How much of the company's money they save, meaning the little amount spent by the insurance company, the better it will be for the insurance adjuster

* If they settle the claim on their own, meaning how less they involve their superiors or company attorneys to settle the claim
