Kelly Hartman has been fostering kittens for animal shelters for years, but recently her dog led her to finally adopt not just one but two!

7-year-old boxer Suzie treats each kitten Hartman brings home as one of her own and is always sad to see the kittens leave. So, when a very special one-eyed kitten named Kushi finally came into Suzie and Kelly's lives, Hartman had a change of heart.

Eventually, I found someone who helped me get Kushi the treatment he needed for his eye, and she also convinced me that he was already home, that he would be the one who got away if I let him go, and she was right. He's my perfect cat.

But their family wasn't totally finished growing yet. Pretty soon another foster kitten with eye problems came along, a little calico named Sunny Marz. After battling a severe eye infection, Sunny lost sight in both of her eyes and lost one eye altogether. Hartman had always wanted to adopt a special needs cat, and Sunny seemed like a perfect fit to join Suzie and Kushi.

Now, all three animals act as interim relatives to the foster kittens that come and go through Hartman's care.

Sunny Marz acts like the kittens' best friend... like the cool, older cousin. Kushi is always grooming and caring for the kittens. He gets very upset if he hears them crying. They have always been very accepting to the animals that I bring in.

You can follow Suzie, Kushi, and Sunny Marz on Hartman's Instagram. But for right now, we'd like to know...

Would you ever take in a special needs pet?
