The issue, which was supposed to celebrate diversity, featured a full spread of white model Karlie Kloss as a geisha. Many are calling it cultural appropriation. What do you think?
Vogue's "Diversity Issue" which is supposed to celebrate women of all shapes, sizes, and colors, recently caught a lot of flack for excessively retouching photos to make plus-sized model Ashley Graham look thinner.
But now that people have actually opened the magazine to see what's inside, they've found something even more upsetting: a full spread of white model Karlie Kloss dressed as a Geisha.
Many are calling this an instance of "yellow face" and cultural appropriation and are asking why an Asian model wasn't used for the shoot instead.

And indeed, Karlie Kloss did apologize for the photoshoot, saying:
These images appropriate a culture that is not my own and I am truly sorry for participating in a shoot that was not culturally sensitive. My goal is... to empower and inspire women. I will ensure my future shoots and projects reflect that mission.
