After a new healthcare bill passed in the House of Representatives, Donald Trump spoke not so much about how he thought the bill would improve healthcare for Americans but how it had united the Republican party.
This has really brought the Republican Party together. As much as we've come up with a really incredible health care plan, this has brought the Republican Party together. We're going to get this finished
You can watch Trump speak about the new bill here:
As it stands, the new bill would put significant strain on people with preexisting conditions as simple as diabetes, arthritis, or even pregnancy and potentially prevent them from being eligible for healthcare or raise their out-of-pocket costs astronomically. Up to 24 million people could lose their access to medical insurance because of this bill by 2026. Republicans are excited because it would close the budget deficit by $337 billion. The bill is likely to face significant revision in the senate, however.
