How to Make a Coronarita
If you’re looking for a refreshing drink you can sip on all day long in the warm summer days (and nights), then look no more: you need a Coronarita (Corona and Margarita, if you’re not a connoisseur yet).
This one’s a sassy cocktail that won’t take you more than 10 minutes to make. Moreover, you might already have everything you need in your house. It’s convenient to make, and very tasty – exactly what you need to get cooled quickly.
If you decided to take on the challenge, you'd have to look for:
- a cocktail shaker,
- some ice,
- 1 ½ oz. of tequila,
- 3 oz. of lemon juice,
- 3/4 oz. of triple sec and a Corona beer.
How to Prepare It
1. Prepare a Margarita
2. Add the Corona bottle upside down.
It’s that easy!
No, really, here’s how you do it:
1. Put the ice in the shaker and then add the tequila, the lemon juice, and the triple sec.
2. Salt the rim of the glass out of which you’re going to drink.
3. Shake the cocktail, then strain it into the glass.
4. Crack open the beer bottle, flip it upside down quickly and place it in the glass.
5. Enjoy your drink!
What Makes a Good Coronarita Great?
Some say it’s the tequila, others think that the lemon juice makes the difference. We think it’s the ice that seals the deal for a refreshing beverage.
Perfectly crystalized ice keeps the temperature of your drink low as you keep sipping it. This happens because compared to traditional pellets of ice, a crystal-clear ice cube will melt down slower.
So not only your drink will stay fresh for longer time, but it will also taste more flavory because the cocktail won’t dilute as fast as it would with traditional ice.
That’s why an ice machine can make a difference between a good Coronarita and a great one. Obviously, you can extend the benefits to any other drinks you enjoy cold and fresh, like whiskey or lemonade.
It’s All About the Ice
If you agree with us, we advise you to go for a Manitowoc ice machine. They deliver high-quality ice makers that are air-, water- or remote-cooled. Their machines create flakes, nuggets, and different types of cube-shaped ice, which means that you can use them not only for beverages but also for slushies and desserts.
Cheers to Coronarita!
But don’t take our word for granted, and try it for yourself – have a Coronarita with regular ice, and after a few days, another one with ice made in a commercial ice machine. If you don't want to come back to the regular ice, we understand you!
