"Li-Fi" Is 100x Faster Than Wi-Fi And About To Change The World As We Know It

A new wireless technology called Li-Fi was tested in the real world for the first time, and the results are astonishing. This incredible technology uses visible light communication to transmit large amounts of data at incredibly high speeds.

Previously scientists had tested the technology and achieved a speed of 224 gigabits per second. When the scientists ran a real world test in Estonia and reached speeds of one gigabyte per second.

For reference, that's one hundred times faster than the average wi-fi connection.

The ramifications around tech like this are infinite. If we'll soon be able to transmit large amounts of data at high speeds, the whole tech industry, and by extension the world, is about to change.
