Choose a word that best fits your personality. Generic question, yes - but this is important:

Choose a word that fits the personality of the person you'll marry:

Choose a location for your wedding:

Choose a theme for your vows:

How do you think your significant other will respond to that theme?

A color scheme for your wedding?

Do you even care about color schemes?

Okay, what DO you care about the most?

What does the person you're going to marry care about the most?

Are you a romantic?

Shakespeare

Shakespeare

It is no secret that Shakespeare is perhaps the most famous poet to have ever lived - the man was quite honestly a genius. People have spent their lives trying to understand the intricacies of the Shakespearean pieces and still haven't uncovered all of the subtle nuances that he's laced into his work.

You are complex and creative, that's why Shakespeare would write your vows. He'd help convey your myriad of feelings about your loved one, so well that the people in that wedding will be thinking about it for years to come.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Edgar Allen Poe

Edgar Allen Poe

Edgar Allen Poe is a total weirdo, and that's precisely why all of us love him. Yup, a TOTAL weirdo - the stories he wrote genuinely haunt you - but this is all in a wonderful way.

You're strange, and I think you know that (and the person who will marry you is going to love you for that). It takes major confidence to be different and to be proud of that difference, I applaud you for that.

Edgar Allen Poe would write some strange vows, but they'll speak boldly and proudly of your pretty strange way of loving someone. Poetic justice, even?

Robert Frost

Robert Frost

If you haven't heard of Robert Frost - you have walked down the wrong road. If you don't get that allegory, I strongly suggest you take a fine look at the Robert's mastery of beautiful prose.

You believe in natural love, something that isn't hard, a love that comes into your spirit and helps take you over.

Robert would steer away from any wild, verbose language that Shakespeare and Edgar might go for. Instead, Robert will help explain clearly what's in your heart. I think sweet and simple is also remarkable.

Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson

Born on December 10, 1830, in Amherst, Massachusetts, Emily Dickinson left school as a teenager to live a reclusive life on the family homestead. There, she filled notebooks with poetry and wrote hundreds of letters.

I tend to talk about how haunting one's work can be, but Emily is literately haunting! Only after she passed away did she rise in fame (that's a talent by itself!).

You have a true romantic love, something that creates the butterflies that turn into exploding fireworks. It's some magical, surreal things happening to you - and that's why Emily will be able to bring her unusual sense of syntax to your unsuaully pure feelings.

Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou

She published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, and several books of poetry, and was credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning over 50 years. She received dozens of awards and more than 50 honorary degrees.

She, like you, is the very definition of heartful intent and a soulful approach. She knows the reason why a caged bird sings, and she'll have the entire audience almost in tears from her thoughtful approach to writing your vows.
