Meet Dragonfly 44, our galaxy's "Dark Twin"

2

Dragonfly 44 is roughly the same size as the Milky Way Galaxy and roughly the same mass, but it only has about one billion stars in it, only 1% of the number of stars in the Milky Way.

3

So, how is it possible that we're twinning with Dragonfly 44? Well, it's mass is composed of 99.99% dark matter, the mysterious, invisible substance that is supposed to make up about 85% of the universe.

Scientists are now hoping that Dragonfly 44 will help them study and better understand the nature of dark matter.

What do you think of Dragonfly 44? Any theories as to how dark matter works? Share your thoughts in the comments below, and share with your friends to see what they think!
