The Revolutionary
The Revolutionary
You are charismatic by nature and not afraid to think outside the box. You are happy to consider changing corporate culture and structures if the need arises. You take a less structured approach and often work outside of formal systems and processes, taking risks where necessary. As a revolutionary you get things done and drive the agenda forward and you like to set tough and challenging goals. You will not let things drift or suffer undue delay and you are not afraid to take difficult decisions. A risk taker by nature, you sometimes get things wrong and are likely to take decisions based on instinct and experience to compensate for a lack of empirical data.
The Politician
The Politician
You are a cautious leader with a methodical, team-based approach. You like to consult widely with staff on important decisions and would rather delay a decision than risk mistakes. You are skilled at consensus building and ensuring staff are “on-board” with important decisions. Your natural caution means that their plans are usually well thought through. However, your restraint and attention to detail can lead to delays and cause decisions to get bogged down with the details. You may avoid making key decisions if you fear you lack consensus or if you are worried that you are missing important facts, leading to missed opportunities.
The Conductor
The Conductor
You like to set tough, challenging goals for yourself and your staff. You are a creative thinker. You are happy to bend the rules and work outside of formal systems and processes. You are more likely than average to take decisions based on gut-feel rather than hard data. You tend to be decisive and are a good person to support with improving the efficiencies of the way existing systems work. You are however, reluctant to consider radical change or reform. You are a strong defender of corporate culture. You have a mild tendency to take decisions alone and this makes you decisive but it also can prevent you from taking on board useful advice from colleagues.
The Carer
The Carer
As a carer you are very open to change if it is planned and not rushed. Your cautious, methodical approach means that your decision making process may sometimes be quite lengthy. You would rather delay a decision than risk mistakes and like to treat each decision as a one-off. You are often worried about a lack of accurate data and have a real attention to detail. This means that you are likely to implement solutions that take account of a wide range of possibilities. You are instinctively more inclined to involve colleagues in important decisions – you like to consult widely and build a consensus before acting.
The Visionary
The Visionary
Visionaries work outside of formal systems and like to take decisions based on experience and intuition. You are more likely than your counterparts to feel that you will need more team-based decision making in the future. You err towards a flexible and intuitive approach and are mildly oriented to action rather than caution, enabling you to be creative. You see the timeliness of information as a key focus area. You worry about not having the time or resources to produce meaningful insight and look forward to change.
The Traditionalist
The Traditionalist
You prefer to work within existing systems and prefer not to be influenced by the reputation and personalities of others when making decisions. You are more likely to think objectively and ignore politics and personalities. You are strong when working within existing agreed systems and processes but can be bureaucratic and resistant to change. You can grasp opportunities and drive agendas forward energetically when you need to but you are more of an efficient administrator than a reforming strategist.
