DJ Art Beatz has been making an impact on the music scene for the last several years, however the Massachusetts based DJ has been focused on becoming one of the most notable producers in the industry. We recently sat down with Art Beatz for an interview where he shared his insights on the music industry as a whole and his buzzing career.

DJ Art Beatz is increasingly more aware of the business side of the music world in this new digital era of streaming and marketing. He states, “The business side is very important for an artist to understand, but I still keep my focus on using my passion for music and art to create lasting, quality music for my fans. As music evolves, we as musicians have to constantly come up with new sounds to stay relevant. The sounds of music as a whole are a reflection of the culture and today’s society.”

His groundbreaking sound and style is a mix of many genres including pop, dance and Hip Hop. His influence in music is derivative of arabic music that he listened to growing up in his home country, Iraq. He remembers the first album he ever owned, The Eminem Show released in 2002. “It was the first album I ever purchased and I played it on repeat non stop. Although I was never into Hip Hop then, it was the first album that inspired me into creating Hip Hop beats.”

DJ Art Beatz continues to perform for live audiences all over the world. His most memorable performance to date was opening for Alesso at the UMass Amherst for Life In Color. We asked him if he had a dream venue to perform at, where would it be? He replied, “Ultra Music Festival in Miami on the mainstage, because it is the biggest electronic festival around and the reason why I got into DJing in the first place.”

With such a wide range of genres incorporated into his unique sound, we were curious as to what artists he would love to collaborate with in the near future. Interestingly enough, he chose Yanni. “Composer Yanni is on the top of my list. I learned to play the piano by ear from my older brother who listened to Yanni growing up as well. We both learned to play many of his songs. It would be a dream come true if I could collab with him to create a dance anthem!”

DJ Art Beatz continues to set a positive example for his global fanbase. His favorite quote is by Bryant McGill, “Be stronger than your excuses.” Art Beatz reminds us that no matter how real your excuses are, they are still excuses at the end of the day. It will never make up for the real deal.
