What Is Gmail Delay Send?

Learn how you can schedule your emails with Gmail Delay Send and schedule your emails to be sent at a later time with a few easy steps.
Have you ever typed an email and waited for a specific time to send it? Chances are you have. Unfortunately, Gmail does not allow sending emails at a later time so all you have to do is wait until the right moment comes. But hold on. There is a way around to make happen what you want.
Google has a scripts library called Google Scripts where independent contributors write useful scripts that are free to use. Luckily, there is a script called Gmail Delay Send that lets you schedule emails for a later time with a simple trick.
How to Install Gmail Delay Send?Installing the Gmail Delay Send script is quite easy. You can go the Google Scripts library and allow the script to use your Gmail account. This means that once you authenticate the script, it will be able to access your account so your scheduled emails could be sent. To be able to authenticate, you must be logged in to the account where you want the feature enabled.

Tip: Sometimes the script might not lead you to the login screen, especially on Safari web browser. It is recommended to login to your Gmail account first and then click on the link provided above.
Once authenticated, make sure the “On” option is selected against “Enable”. There are a few other features that you may want to enable or disable depending on your liking. And finally, click “Save Preferences” button.

That’s pretty much it. There are no further confusing configurations to set up the Gmail Delay Send feature.
How to schedule emails with Gmail Delay Send? The tricky part, however, is scheduling emails. Now that you have the script installed on top of your Gmail account, let’s see how you can set emails to be sent later.
First, compose the email that you want to schedule just like you would normally do.There will be one addition that you will add in the first line of your email which is going to be the date and time. For example, if you want to schedule the email for 5pm on the same day, you will simply add “@5:00pm” without the quotation marks. You can add date or day as well. For example, @Tuesday 12:30am” or “@20th 9:05pm” etc.The third step is to save the email instead of saving. This way it will now be available in drafts. In the fourth part, you will set a label to the email. A label GmailDelaySend/ToSend has automatically created while the installation of the script. Navigate to the options button next to delete button > Click “Labels” and then set the label to “GmailDelaySend/ToSend “.
The best thing is that you can make changes to rest of the email before it is sent. Once you have followed the above steps, you will just need to save the email after changes are made if it is not automatically saved.
