Remember the time when booze was illegal? You probably don't, but it was there for a while. Really really illegal.

Abstinence movements have been around for a WHILE.

Although some States, at the time, really weren't having it. At all. Like Maryland, where many openly protested temperance movements.

I also, want beer.

Although alcohol was illegal, you could still get a prescription and access it medicinally.

I feel a lot better about my flask of 'rescue remedy' now. Medicinal. Let's stick with that.

Bootleggers really had to be creative. They strapped blocks to their shoes so they would leave the foot prints of a cow, and throw the cops of their scent.

That is some serious commitment.

When bootleggers were caught, it was a pretty big deal. Cops would destroy everything.

Oh, to stand beneath that waterfall of booze.

Honestly, bootleggers really pushed the boat out. This guy would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for the smell.

Points for imagination.

As the Great Depression began to loom, law makers had less and less wiggle room. Eventually alcohol was back in.

Well, we're going to go and enjoy a cold frosty one to celebrate the end of prohibition!

We're still pretty pleased about it, all these years later.
