Toyota Camry
Toyota Camry
- Only Camry has a hybrid version
- Camry's more silent inside but the sound of its 2.4 is much less sexier than Accord's
- Camry 2.4 and 2.5 don't like sharp turns. Camry 3.5 has a different suspension and delivers more fun. But Accord is a more driver's car anyways.
- Camry's 4-cylinder engines are less powerful. Toyota's 2.4 produces 157-165 hp, newer Toyota's 2.5 - 169-178 hp and Honda's 2.4 - 177-190 hp. So if you buy a Camry you'd better buy a V6 Camry.
- Driving a Toyota Camry 3.5 you can shift gears manually but Honda doesn't have this option.
- Camry has a super simple interface: very understandable, with large buttons.
- Camry is slightly less spacious than Accord, speaking of its front and back seats.
- But Camry's trunk is not only bigger (15 cu ft vs 14 cu ft) but also easier to load
- Toyota is a bit more fuel efficient. Gasoline 2.4 runs 21 MPG in a city and 31 on a highway and 2.5 - 22/33. Honda's 2.4 runs 21/30. Camry's V6 is also a little less gas-guzzling and the Hybrid is a fuel efficiency king - 33/34 MPG.
- Unfortunately, Toyota Camry's interior quality is lower than Honda Accord's. You are more likely to hear squeaking and rattling here.
Honda Accord
Honda Accord
- Accord VIII doesn't have a hybrid version.
- Accord's 2.4 engine sound is beautiful but all in all Accord's cabin is quite noisy, Camry is quieter.
- Accord LOVES cornering and its suspension is perfectly made for it.
- No matter what you choose - 2.4 or 3.5 V6, both engines won't disappoint.
- Accord's interface may seem overcomplicated at a first glance - too many small buttons. Camry's easier to understand but you'll get used to Accord's logic very soon.
- Honda's slightly more spacious and airier inside than Toyota. It's a good advantage if your family and friends often ride with you.
- Though Accord's trunk is smaller than Camry's - just 14 cu in.
- Honda has a 5-speed transmission and can't offer you manual gear shifting.
- Honda is a bit less fuel efficient. 2.4 runs 21 MPG in a city and 30 on a highway. Toyota's figures are 21/31 for 2.4 and 22/33 for a newer 2.5. Same stuff about 3.5 V6.
- Accord's interior quality is fantastic - almost no squeaks, no rattles even when the car is 7-9 years old. Toyota can't boast of it.
