Ectomorphs
Ectomorphs
Ectomorphs find it hard to gain weight as either body fat or muscle. People of this body type have a fast metabolic rate and a constant feeling of hunger. Regardless of the amount of food consumed, they have to work out much harder to gain muscle mass. The same goes for rest periods.
People of this kind should use sports nutrition not only to increase the muscle size, but also to enhance their strength. Besides, ectomorphs lose the gained weight very quickly without the additional support in the form of supplements.
Such people should eat a few hours before bedtime to prevent muscle catabolism during the night.
Mesomorphs
Mesomorphs
Mesomorphs are considered to be genetically-gifted because they have average-sized bone structures and naturally athletic physique. Their genetics allows them to easily gain muscle mass, however the lack of physical activity causes them to gain weight as well.
Nevertheless, this body type is the most genetically predisposed to sports and bodybuilding. Mesomorphs find it quite easy to gain muscle, making fewer efforts than ectomorphs or, for example, endomorphs. The downside to this trait is that the fat layers also increase. It means that mesomorphs should watch their calorie intake.
Endomorphs
Endomorphs
Endomorphs typically have a natural tendency to gain fat and carry excess weight. As a rule, they are thickset. Due to their hormonal profile and specific metabolism, the people of this body type can gain weight even while sticking to a rigid diet.
Endomorphs are larger boned and often overweight, so they find it difficult to lose weight and keep the fat off.
Nevertheless, endomorphs have strong muscles. People of this physique should always stick to a strict diet and a balanced workout system to avoid excess weight gain.
