After working along side the leadership team at Aegis, we have noted some ways in which they operate and stay organized. Below is a very easy to digest list of 4 ways that successful leaders can work through the noise and stay organized:
1) Clean your desk every Friday- firstly, no one wants to come back from the weekend and see a mess of dirty coffee stains on their desk- it is not great way to start the week. Throw away those post its and notes from tasks you already accomplished- it will feel good.
2) Keep a calendar- I don’t know about you, but sometimes there is so much going on around me that I can quite literally forget to eat. With that being said, I always need to make sure I write down every appointment on my calendar or log it on my computer Outlook calendar.
3) Write down daily goals- It is so important to make sure you know what you are trying to accomplish every day. You don’t want to get mixed up in a bunch of side work just to realize you actually got nothing important done. Crossing off what you completed also feels really good.
4) Keep a log- Most people probably don’t do this. When I say this, I mean literally write down all of the things you have done at work. Sometimes we get so busy that we don’t remember all the tasks completed. If a team member asks what I accomplished, it can sometimes be foggy. If you keep that log close by, you can be ready to rattle off what you have completed thus far.
