Ozzy and Jack admire their chauffeur's classic 1956 Chevy. There are thousands of classic cars on the road in Cuba because they were unable to import new cars during the Cuban Embargo which began in the 1960s. As a result, families have passed their classic American cars down from generation to generation.

Churchill visited Cuba in 1946

WWII history buff Ozzy is thrilled to learn that his hero Winston Churchill visited Cuba in 1946 and gave a speech to the Cuban people from the balcony of the Presidential Palace.

The CIA attempted to assassinate Fidel Castro 8 times

Between 1953-1959 Fidel Castro led the Cuban Revolution where he ousted the corrupt President Batista and installed himself as a communist leader. Since then, the CIA has attempted (unsuccessfully) to assassinate Castro 8 times.

The Presidential Palace is now The Museum of the Revolution that has a section called "Corner of Cretins" openly mocking past American Presidents.

Ernest Hemingway lived in Cuba from 1939-1960

Ernest Hemingway got stuck in a layover in Cuba in 1939 and decided to stay there for over twenty years. The legendary American writer's Cuban house is now a public museum and he bought the 10 acres for just $18,500.

Hemingway's house is still full of his personal items, including the many animals he hunted in America and Africa. There's even a daily record of his weight personally penciled by him on his bathroom wall.

In 1962 Rock and Roll was banned

After the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, Fidel Castro outlawed rock and roll in Cuba. Records were burned and secret parties were held to play the few records that remained unscathed. The ban was lifted in 1966.

Fidel sees a kindred spirit in John Lennon

There's a John Lennon Park in Havana which was opened in 2000 and includes a John Lennon bronze statue. In 2004, Fidel Castro gave a speech saying he greatly admired and related to John Lennon, who he also saw as a rebel and a victim of US harassment.
