Ali plays Richard Tyler a returnee, he disappeared in 1951. He initially thought he had no powers but later in series 2 he discovers he has the power of telekinesis. Ali appears in all 4 Seasons of the show and plays a pivotal part in the series. This is my first recollection of Ali in a TV show and he made a good impression.
Alphas
Ali plays Nathan Clay, he was the head of a tactical team that the Department of Defence had put together to work alongside Dr. Rosen’s alphas team. He had a typical soldier’s mentality and was always looking for ways to militarize Rosen’s efforts. This was a slow series to build but was ultimately a great show. It was a shame it was cancelled. Ali was in season 2 of the show which was a better season.

Ali plays Dr Trey Saunders in this medical/police procedural in the 1st season. This was Ali’s first main T.V role, he was a medical examiner working on a grant, who left after the first season. Since his departure was not directly explained, many have assumed he left when the funding for his grant ended. I admit I enjoyed this show and was sad when it came to an end.

Ali portrays Mr “Tizzy Weathers in Benjamin Button and is nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
In Mockingjay Ali plays Boggs. He was first introduced as President Coin's right-hand man. At first, Katniss writes him off as someone she will dislike due to his close association with Coin. However, he is shown to be honest, witty, and friendly, and Katniss learns to trust him. He serves as Katniss' bodyguard for part of Mockingjay and is assigned to Squad 451 along with Katniss, Gale, and Finnick. He does die sometime after stepping on a land-mine and makes Katniss promise to complete her mission and kill Peeta.
