1

How Old Your Friends Are.

Wave seniority bye-bye because no one cares how old you are anymore! In fact, a lot of your friends might end up being upperclassmen!

2

Dressing Up For Class

Getting up at 6 a.m. every morning to look nice for school was the absolute worst, but every morning for the next four years you will wake up 10 minutes before class and go in what you wore to bed.

3

What Sports You Played

Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Lacrosse, etc. everyone thinks it's cool that you are on a team, but that doesn't determine who your friends are!

4

Who Your "Squad" Is

Your girls or your guys don't exist anymore. You will make friendships in every corner of your school, and it will be way better than only talking to your normal 5 people friend group!

5

Eating At A Specific Time Every Day

There is no "lunch time". You eat when you can, what you can, and however much you can with the little money you will have. (Make your mom take you to the grocery store when she visits. You're welcome).

6

Relationships

I'm sorry, but high school relationships will end at some point or another especially if the two people are going to different schools. As much as it sucks, long distance at this stage of life just doesn't work that well.

7

Having Time to Watch T.V.

You will no longer have nights of sitting at home with nothing to do but watch Netflix because you will most likely always be with your friends or chilling in your library on that study grind.

8

Not Driving Yourself To School (Or Having A Car)

Here are a few rules:
1. If you don't have a car at school find someone with one.
2. If you have a car that can fit a lot of people become their chauffeur because you will make ten times more friends then you already will have.

Everyone always wants a ride across campus so they don't have to walk and it's not unusual to have your friend drop you off somewhere.

9

SAT and ACT Scores

What is standardized testing again????

10

Hearing and Spreading Around Rumors

I'm not going to lie and say that drama doesn't exist in college because it definitely does, but whether your school has 2,000 or 30,000 people, no one cares enough to start rumors of any kind.

11

Your Parents Watching Your Every Move

You are now a free spirit. You can go to Taco Bell at 2 a.m., take a road trip across America, or even party until you see the sun. Your parents won't even know because now you're responsible for making the right decisions.

12

Your Weekend Actually Starts On Wednesday

Sunday and Monday are your resting days, and then the weekend starts Wednesday so get ready.

13

How Formal Your Emails Are To Your Teachers

You will soon learn that your professors will start emails off to you by saying "hey" and will most likely end them with an emoji of some sort. It's normal.

14

Dress Code

YOU CAN FINALLY WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!!!!

15

Class Attendance

Some professors may take attendance if it's a small class, and big lecture classes don't take attendance at all. The best part about this though is that the school won't call your parents if you don't show up, and you get to decide whether you go or not. (advice: do not skip a lot of class you will regret it).

16

What Time You Go To Bed

You will go to bed around 2 a.m. every night instead of 10 p.m. but it's totally worth it.

17

Asking To Go To The Bathroom

You will be treated like an adult so you can leave class whenever you want my friend.

18

Carrying A 40 lb. Backpack Around Everywhere

The only thing you will need all year in your backpack is a pen, notebook, laptop, and maybe a folder if you're feeling crazy.

19

Needing Your Parents Permission To Leave School

If you get bored in class or you have an appointment to be at, you can leave. It's that simple.

20

Being In Class From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Every Day

Most likely your classes will be in 50 minute increments or 1 hour and 15 minute increments and you will probably have from 2-3 every day if you have a busy schedule. Even then, it's no where near as time consuming as high school is.

21

Prom

Prom is no longer the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Instead you will have formals, semi-formals, banquets, and all other kinds of formal events for the clubs, sports teams, or greek life you are in. It's like having prom every year!!!
