Talk to a friend someone you trust and who listens

If you feel down and just need an ear to listen , grab a friend, family member, significant other, someone who listens without judgement. One who will tell you their honest opinions but is not putting you down or simply just talking about themselves.

Sometimes talking it out can make all the difference in your entire day and having the right person to conversate with will give you the closure you are seeking.

Sit down turn off the tv and turn on some good music

A million and one studies have shown that Music can change your mood drastically. Music reduces stress, releases endorphins in the brain and just get's you moving and feeling good. Music can also make you nostalgic and bring back memories of good times and events in your past and sometimes even make you emotional which is good too.

Anytime i'm in a bad mood I turn on some Pandora and just let the music take me away and forget about all my stresses.

You can absolutely never fail in picking up a sweet cute little animal and cuddling it :D

Puppy, Kitty, Bunny, Iguana whatever it may be if it is your pet and you love it pick it up and give it some loving if you're not having the best day. Animals love you right back and who knows they may just need it as much as you do. Animals can sense stress on their owners from a mile away they are just as concerned.

Take a nice long walk

Get out in mother nature. Go for a hike, walk on a trail and just let yourself go and admire the outside world for awhile. Whenever i'm feeling tense if the weather permits I take nice long walks looking at the trees, sky, flowers if they're in bloom and the fresh air does a body a whole lot of good too.

There's a whole world out there go experience it.

5

Write down your feelings and express yourself

Whether it be a journal or a simple piece of paper and a pen write down how you're feeling and each day reflect and make a plan for dealing with this stress. Writing will allow you to express yourself and get some of that pent up frustration out and onto the paper.

6

Catch up on sleep and take a nap

Naps are the best and most American's do not get enough sleep as it is, so if you're feeling a bit down it may be from lack of sleep. Crawl into bed with a comfy pillow and a blanket and drift to sleep. Add some music if that will calm you and cuddling with a pet or a significant other never hurts.

7

Plan out a fun Activity for the day

Go out and take pictures, go bowling, see a movie,go on a trip, anything to get you out of that house and not being a grumpasoar! Plan a day with friends, family or your s/o or even an activity with just yourself, believe me it makes you feel better and you won't regret it.

8

Keep routines consistent

Your sleep schedule, when you eat, see friends and family or make time for yourself keeping these things consistent is key because once they're all out of wack so are you and things can really seem like a mess and become depressing at times. Keep a calendar always handy and write everything down if you have to keep this consistency.

9

Look through old pictures and get nostalgic and make new memories

Grab old photos of family, friends or those close to you and just reminisce on old memories. You could also scrapbook which is a fun craft and go out and snap new memories for your collection.

10

Go get yourself a Hug

Hugging boosts Oxytocin levels and can bring you comfort and happiness. So grab a friend, co worker, s/o and getting that hug can really bring you around.

11

Get the Laughs out or Let some Tears out

Who doesn't like to laugh? Laughter is also good for you it releases stress and can boost immunity, not to mention just make you feel good. So go watch funny Youtube Videos, a funny movie or get silly with friends. Sometimes letting out tears can help just as much as laughing too.

Crying also releases stress and even better emotional tears bring back memories and can make you laugh cry which believe me i've done it it's pretty fantastic! If you want to get a little emotional open up old photos, go somewhere with an old friend and remember all the memories you've had there or reconnect with an old friend and get talking it won't be long before those tears are rolling for a good reason.
