Unapologetically sardonic, bursting with overt sexuality, perpetually angry, coolly independent, and fearless. Natasha says the most outrageous things and gets away with it. She has absolutely no regard for rules or authority - the only person who tells Natasha what to do is Natasha. Her superiority complex and scheming mind cause nothing but trouble, but she moves so smoothly she's never there to suffer the fall.
Razor-sharp wit, talented aspiring writer, maladjusted misanthrope, dark sense of humour. Flannery is funny, appreciative of irony, and socially conscious. She is also vengeful, with a deep capacity for jealousy and spite. She is not quite in touch with reality, has no ability to control her anger, and is capable of anything once she has lost her temper.
Regal, gracious, organized, the ultimate hostess. Kate considers herself to be the unofficial leader of the Basic Eight, and will take charge of everything - from the guest list for the next dinner party to a blueprint for covering up murder. She cares about her friends but is also fascinated by their dramas, struggles, and any unhealthy behaviours they may have. Essentially she wants things to work out and for everyone to be happy, but she won't pass up the opportunity to spread a juicy morsel of gossip - no matter who's involved.
Jennifer Rose Milton
Jennifer Rose Milton
Beautiful, graceful, tactful, intelligent, and kind-hearted. Jennifer Rose Milton is sort of the Disney princess of her friend group, charming others with her poise and elegance. She is the most open-minded member of the Basic Eight, trying to be inclusive of everyone and smoothing over tense social situations. She also has a wild side, which comes out at parties and dances, and in her fast-paced romantic relationships.
Highly logical, strait-laced, hardworking, and determined. Lily is the most sensible and probably the most sensitive member of the Basic Eight. She's up for a good time but tries to take everything in moderation, rarely getting drunk and expressing wariness towards illegal substances. She's as opinionated and conversational as any of her friends, but has a firmly entrenched sense of right and wrong, and won't hesitate to show her disapproval at the antics of others.
Perfectly polished, professional, generous and inquisitive. V___ is a young woman with ladylike manners and impeccable taste. She comes from a rich family and is used to being pampered but won't hesitate to share her wealth with others. Fussy and a little out of touch with how the common people live, but a loyal, sympathetic friend. V___ generally prefers to spend time with people who share her refined tastes, but when it comes to love, she goes for the mischievous, unkempt bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks.
Gentle, honest, selfless, chivalrous, patient. Gabriel is a true gentleman. He cares greatly for the feelings and welfare of others and his loyalty knows no bounds. He has a stoic demeanour and generally does well with managing his emotions. Gabriel also has a great sense of humour and is attracted to witty women who aren't afraid to speak their minds. The only thing that can really make Gabriel lose his temper is anyone questioning him on his cooking choices.
Old-fashioned, considerate, a tad moody, and always sharply-dressed. Douglas has a strong one-for-all and all-for-one mentality. Preserving his friendships is very important to him, and his sense of reciprocity is integral to that. Douglas is a worrywart, often envisions the worst-case scenario, and struggles internally with who he is. He is profoundly moved by classical music and often seeks escapism from life's day-to-day pressures.
