Psychological

Psychological

You have psychological PMS. You may experience mood swings and mental exhaustion from distress brought on by your pre-menstrual period, and it can be tough a symptom to overcome. When you feel anxious or in a state of panic you temporarily lose the ability to concentrate for a prolonged period of time, and often become restless in the process. During this state of menstruation you may even feel a loss of self-confidence or self-esteem, and you try your hardest not to let it interfere with your personal relationships. The good news is that the world isn't actually ending, and you can always tell yourself that these thoughts are just a product of preparing for Aunt Flow!

Physical

Physical

Your PMS is primarily physical. You experience the more common symptoms such as bloating, tender breasts, headaches and skin changes. But the more severe symptoms that really get you down are the tiredness, dizziness, joint aches and upset stomach that follows. This is not a fun symptom of PMS to have and sometimes a Midol and some hot chocolate is not enough to make you forget about the pain. A good ol' fashioned nap and taking it easy for a couple days can usually do the trick, but you should talk to your doctor about other options if your daily routine is inhibited by your PMS.

Behavioral

Behavioral

You have behavioral PMS. When you're in your pre-menstrual cycle you tend to make impulsive decisions, and most of these include dietary needs and overall food consumption. You like to fulfill that sweet toot of yours and aid your stomach cramps with salty goodness, but sometimes you forget that all that indulgence can make you sick. Sometimes, you even experience a lack in sex and prefer to take it easy. But we must admit you're PMS symptom doesn't sound too bad at all!

Emotional

Emotional

You have emotional PMS. Your pre-menstrual hormones tend to take a toll on your mood, and sometimes you struggle in rationalizing everyday situations. You may feel angry or upset at the drop of a hat, and sometimes you feel depressed for no reason at all. You get a bit tearful in stressful situations and your heart feels heavy the week prior to your period, but eventually the emotional imbalance goes away. Try finding a therapeutic activity like painting or meditating, and see if it helps!

Barely There

Barely There

Your PMS is barely there, you lucky duck! This could be a biologically inherited gift or perhaps you maintain a healthy lifestyle that balances your body and mind. Sure, you probably get some sweet tooth cravings and experience the occasional cramp from time to time, but it's nothing that hinders your everyday routine and it definitely doesn't disrupt your daily mood.

Severe PMS

Severe PMS

You have some pretty severe PMS symptoms. You may find your emotional, physical and psychological states easily effected by hormonal shift the week before your period comes, but we have some good news for you. If you aren't already taking a contraceptive pill, then you should talk to your doctor about the right brand that will alleviate your pain. If Midol, Advil and other over-the counter pills don't help, then this may be a good temporary solution for your intense cramps and mood swings.
