Alastair Hook, the founder of Meantime, spent 20 years perfecting the ultimate English Lager.
He was inspired by some of the great European lager brewers that use very soft water and neutral yeasts to make sure that you taste the full flavours of their locally grown malt and hops.
East Anglia is home to the world’s finest malting barley and world-famous hops are grown in Kent. Nicely positioned halfway between the two, the brewery in Greenwich is the perfect place to bring these ingredients together.

The barley, grown in East Anglia, is then malted in Witham, Essex by Bairds Malts. For their London Lager, Meantime use 100% Pale Malt.
