You'll Never Guess The Disgusting Way This Man Tried To Cure His Back Pain

Making your own medicine is never a good idea. That didn't stop one man though from coming up with his own medical treatment. What he did would surprise even the medical community.

Doctors don't recommend that people perform experimental medical treatments on themselves, but that hasn't stopped people from doing so.

The most recent example of this is the case of a 33-year-old Irish man who was suffering back pain and decided to take treatment into his own hands in one very weird and pretty gross way.

The ways a person can injure their back are endless and treating back pain can vary depending on the severity of the injury. Sometimes doctors simply recommend that a person rest in bed for a few days until the muscles and nerves have time to heal.

Other times, doctors may give person an injection of pain medication or in extreme circumstances, even perform surgery to relieve the back pain.

Unfortunately, this man didn't seek out medical help right away and had his own method for treating his back pain.

It was only after months of suffering that the man went to the doctor for his back issues. That's when the doctor examining him noticed something strange that wasn't related to a back injury at all.

During the checkup, the doctor noticed the man had a large red patch of swelling on his right forearm. The area was hard and painful to the touch. Naturally, the doctor asked the man about it. Perhaps he'd been stung by something or suffered a painful spider bite?

Nope, that wasn't it at all. The man revealed that it was something much stranger. There was no way that the doctor was prepared for what the man told him next.

The main told the doctor that he'd been suffering from the pain for a 18 months, so he purchased a hypodermic needle online and began injecting himself with what he hoped would cure his pain.

Typically, doctors or nurses are the ones who administer pain killers via hypodermic needle. It's possible though that the man could have bought some morphine or other powerful pain killer on the black market, but that's not what he was injecting himself with.

The doctor asked what the man had been injecting into his arm and that's when the man told him the disturbing answer.

He had been injecting his own semen into his arm for a year and half!

In fact, that very day that he was at the doctor's office the man had injected his arm with three doses of his semen because he believed it would cure the pain he had suffered from lifting a heavy object a few days earlier.

Surprise, it didn't help one bit!

It was the first time the doctors at Adelaide and Meath Hospital in Ireland had ever heard of such a bizarre treatment and they even included the story in the Irish Medical Journal under an article titled "Semenly’ Harmless Back Pain: An Unusual Presentation of a Subcutaneous Abscess."

HAHA!

As humorous as the case might be, the man's health was in jeopardy.

The area on his arm where he had injected himself repeatedly had become hard and an x-ray showed that air had become trapped under his skin.

If untreated, it would only get worse and result in infection that might even lead to amputation.

In order to help the patient recover from both his back pain and arm pain from his semen injections, he was hospitalized and treated with intravenous antimicrobial therapy. This would help his arm to heal and prevent further infection of the area.

Eventually, his arm healed and he was discharged from the hospital.

As strange as the case was, doctors were curious if it was the only reported case of a person injecting themselves with their own semen. What they learned was rather disturbing.

There were no other reported examples of people injecting themselves with semen to treat pain, but there were some equally bizarre cases.

People have reportedly injected semen into rats. (Why??? Who knows, people are really weird.) People have also injected all sorts of things into their bodies in hopes of curing themselves or making themselves stronger or prettier. Some people have injected gasoline into their bodies and others have injected charcoal and even dangerous mercury into their veins!

One man even went to jail for posing as a doctor and administering a very disturbing injection on his patient.

The fake doctor in Florida caused a woman to die after giving injections into her butt in order to make her buttocks larger.

His name was Oneal Ron Morris and over the course of three years he injected a poisonous mixture into the buttocks of the woman that resulted in respiratory failure and eventually killed her!

Lots of things can be poisonous and lead to death if they find their way into the human body, but the concoction that Morris made was truly horrendous!

It was a toxic mixture of cement, mineral oil, bathroom caulk, and Fix-a-Flat tire sealant! The madman injected the same stuff used for fixing flat tires into another person. It was simply his own mixture of PURE POISON!

For his horrible crime he was sentenced to 10 years in prison on a charge of manslaughter.

It's stories like both of these that should serve as a reminder to the public to never take medical procedures into your own hands and only seek treatment from licensed and reputable physicians.
