Being assertive means that you express yourself effectively by standing up for your point of view, while also respecting the rights and beliefs of others. You may be too aggressive. Aggressive leaders are TOO assertive. Aggressive leaders tend to focus on their own needs vs. the needs of everyone else. Their tone and body language may often be perceived as angry. Typically found dictating things that need to be done versus coaching employees. They often dictate things that need to be done and can be seen as demanding. Often aggressive leaders have no idea they are being perceived this way and do not intend to be "bossy" just want to get things done for the benefit of the practice. The good news is with some coaching you can be on your way to improving your leadership techniques.

Passive Leader

You may be a passive leader. Passive leaders and often not assertive enough and may be perceived as quiet, aloof and resentful. They may complete tasks on their own and avoid confrontation. These people can be seen as being disengaged and distant. The good news is with a little coaching you can be on your way becoming a more effective leader.
