Lakers news that Dwight Howard re-signed with team gets troll treatment from Shaquille O'Neal

Lakers news: It seems that NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal hasn’t been following Los Angeles lately, as he doesn’t know the name of the player that the team recently signed.

TMZ recently caught up with Shaq to ask about his thoughts regarding the Lakers’ decision to bring back Dwight Howard. The Diesel acted like he doesn’t know the eight-time All-Star by saying “Who? I don’t know him.”

Apparently, that wasn’t enough.

Shaq recently had a friendly beef with Kobe Bryant after the latter said that he would’ve had 12 rings if the former wasn’t lazy. O’Neal responded to this by saying that they would’ve won more championships if Bryant passed the ball more.

When Kobe cleared the air on Twitter by saying that everything’s good between him and Shaq, O’Neal had this to say.

Howard has yet to respond to any of O’Neal’s comments, but it’s unlikely for him to say anything at this point.

The Lakers signed Dwight to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal, which means that the team can waive him anytime without shedding any amount of salary, especially if he proves to be a distraction. Howard reportedly convinced team officials and players that he’s already a changed man, and starting a social media war with Shaq would prove otherwise.

Howard is focused on turning his career around and redeeming himself to the Laker fans who still hate him for leaving the team back in 2013. He’s expected to play a limited role with the team this upcoming season, but that will likely change if he proves that he can still play at an elite level.

Last season, Howard dealt with a series of injuries that caused him to play only nine games for the Washington Wizards. Dwight still averaged close to 12 points and eight rebounds per game, which means he can still make an impact with the Lakers when healthy.

The Lakers are expected to compete for an NBA championship next season, and they need everybody on the roster to be on the same page, including Howard. So far, nothing bad has been said about him since rejoining the franchise. Hopefully, it stays that way.

We don’t want the next Lakers news to be about them looking for another center yet again.
