But it’s often the less well-known acts that the audiences talk about when they head home
You don’t have to be into skiing or snowboarding
There is so much more to Mayrhofen than just skiing and boarding. It also offers cycling, horse riding, paragliding, hiking, llama trekking, water-rafting, swimming and if you’re feeling brave – Alpine Coasters which allow you and your friends to hurtle down the mountain on toboggans
The snow is amazing!
If you’re a seasoned skier or boarder and are worried about the snow…DON’T BE! April has great snow conditions in Mayrhofen, which is home to 650km of piste, Europe's steepest slope, more than 150 cable cars, plenty of blue, black and red runs as well as the Vans Penken Snowpark.
If that's not enough, then just up the road from Mayrhofen is Austria’s only year-round ski resort, the Hintertux Glacier.
With astonishing views and amazing restaurants, the Hintertux Glacier offers perfect snow 365 days of the year.
The Clown Hill race
The Clown Hill race offers the chance to knock an overly-competitive comedian off of their perch. VIP wristband holders can don their skis or boards (and best costumes) and race the clowns down the mountain. If you aren’t taking part, grab a drink instead and head to the starting line to witness fierce rivalries developing
It’s socially acceptable to be drinking at all times
Altitude is a festival after all, and in an Austrian ski resort, so having a mini Jagermeister for breakfast is fiiine.
Fizz fans – you can get a bottle of Prosecco for just 3 euros in the supermarket. 3 EUROS!
For the more discerning drinkers among you, the local beer and wine selection is absolutely incredible (but no one will judge if you wash down your vintage Riesling with a shot of schnapps)
The Schneekarhutte
This beautiful pyramid structure is nestled up high in the Tyrolean mountains, and offers some of the most perfect food, drinks and views in Austria. If you're feeling flush you can even stay in one of the star-lit hotel rooms. Reaching it is an adventure in itself, but when you get there you’ll realize why your journey was worth every second
You can go VIP all the way daahling
If you choose to purchase a VIP wristband you will be treated to:
A bottle of wine (or up to 4 beers) each per day
An Altitude T-Shirt
The best seats in the house reserved for your group
An invite to meet and greet the comedians at the exclusive press party
A place to compete in the Clown Hill Race
Go on and spoil yourself!
