Declaration of Principles You Must Follow to Join a Masonic Order

For people who wish to improve themselves on a spiritual, mental, and physical level and in all areas of life, as a parent, or a friend, or even as a member of their community, Freemasonry is often the path to go down. Instilling a feeling of brotherhood and unity among men and women, regardless of their nationality, race, and religion, Freemasonry, or commonly known as Masonry, continually searches for the ways to help all human beings to unite and bring together for the perfection of humanity.

There are a number of organizations and Masonic Orders spread worldwide which form the fraternity of Freemasonry. Each of these Orders and organization have their own structure and terminology, which collectively can be referred to as Masonic bodies, Masonic Orders or Orders of Freemasonry. In order to become a part of these bodies, Masons have to follow certain principles known as the ‘Declaration of Principles’ in the Mason communities. While these are fairly common in almost all the bodies, there are few independent mason bodies that have their own principles that masons need to consider.

If you want to walk this path to reach to the god and make this world a better place, here are the few of many principles you need to follow:

  • Each member of the Masonic order owes obedience to the Order as well as to the laws of their nation. They must live respectfully, favors justice, love their neighbors, work selflessly towards the happiness and betterment of humanity, and help every human being to liberate themselves from the slavery of passion and ignorance.

  • Irrespective of the degree one may desire to be admitted -from the first to the last-, one condition that has to be fulfilled at any cost is to have a character of unsullied honor and probity.

  • Members of the Masonic Order are obliged to help each other and support in all situations and conditions of life.

  • One important principle is to speak only truth, to think high, to do well, to not to be intolerant to others, to seek the truth, to practice justice, liberty, fraternal equality, and solidarity. These are some of the duties which most universal masonries want their members to perform.

In a nutshell

If you are thinking about becoming a freemason so that you could bring a change to this world, make sure you are ready to oblige to the Masonic Order ‘Declaration of Principles’ mentioned above.
