Key details

What you need to know

Falkirk 1 (McManus 72)
Airdrie 2 (McKay 30, Gallagher 90)

Airdrie regain the lead and surely the points with a late header

88 - Spying mission

Brown Ferguson, Linlithgow Rose manager, has left the Falkirk Stadium.

Michael Doyle - foul

81 - So close

The Bairns have been pressing and Louis Longridge's cross was knocked to Buchanan who opted not to shoot and fed Doyle. Ball moved wide to McShane whose dug-out cross from under his feet fell to Sammon at the front post but the substitute bundled it just wide....

74 - Brilliant stop

Robbie Mutch keeps the Bairns level with a brilliant diving save to deny a Sean Crichton header. Carrick blazes the rebound over the bar with the goal gaping.,

Great save, and great let-off too.

72 - It's 1-1!

We told you he had his groove back....

He's done it again.
McManus flicks on a Buchanan effort on goal and less like Stranraer when he diverted it off target, more like against Dumbarton, Declan McManus denies his captain a goal with one of his own.

Suddenly the Falkirk Stadium is energised....

64 - Corner

Durnan header is pawed off the line by David Hutton

61 - In-play odds

Current in-play odds on a Falkirk win are 7/1. 13/5 the draw, with bet365.

Other bookmakers are available.

57 - Slammed

Calum Gallagher is slammed to the (plastic) turf by Gregor Buchanan and Stevie Kirkland is not interested. Ian Murray, jacket billowing like a cape, is all up in arms and racing around the technical area, incensed.

Falkirk immediately counter, but are stopped by Hutton.

Past record

If Falkirk want to take ANYTHING from this game, they need to defy their recent stats where they have never overturned a half-time deficit to take anything from games. Three times in the last 20 games they've trailed at the break, and lost every one

Falkirk 0
Airdrie 1 (McKay 30)

44 - Just wide

David McMillan strokes a cross tamely across goal. Did well to meet it but Hutton had it covered.

Edging towards half-time where the reaction from the home support will be 'frustrated'

Darren Taylor (asst) - dissent

40 - Save Mutch

Robbie Mutch fists over a free-kick that was bound for the top corner. Vital stop.

Corner flashes right through the penalty area

34 - Declan's got his groove back

After a barren run, Declan McManus looks in the modo this afternoon. Has terrorised the Airdrie left-back and now heading over to the right-wing where he promptly turns Kyle MacDonald and nutmegs Callum Smith in one move. He's then hauled to the ground and awarded a free-kick

30 - GOAL

Airdrie take the lead on the half-hour.

Paul McKay converts on one of the Diamonds' few forays upfield.... having been on trial with the Bairns in the summer and unable to win a deal.

27 - Injury break

Players all head for the dugout for water and instructions as Michael Tidser receives treatment to the lower area of his left leg

But he's fit to continue

21 - Everything but

Falkirk somehow can't breach David Hutton despite attempts from Declan McManus, David Millan and Louis Longridge all making the Airdrie defence look wobbly.... but still unbroken.

17 - Header

Mark Durnan heads over

12 - Handball claim

Louis Longridge waltzes into the box, knocked off balance by several challenges and stabs a cross across the area but it strikes the arm of Crighton but ref Kirkland eaves away the half-hearted claims.

8 - Better ball

Better through ball this time from Declan McManus for Louis Longridge and it's smothered by David Hutton

5 - Passed up chance

Tidser elects to pass a through ball for David McMillan - and it's just a bit too far out of the Irishman's reach. Could have taken a shot from the edge of the box and tested David Hutton

Change of role?

I now invite Airdrie secretary Ann Marie Ballantyne, Falkirk director Lex Miller, Alex Totten and Jean Sneddon to lay wreaths at the Brockville gate
Stadium MC Dave McIntosh

Lex Miller is introduced onto the pitch as a director.
Isn't his title interim chairman?

Change to the team-lines

A key member of the Falkirk matchday staff hurriedly updated the press pack of a change to the printed teamsheets.

Cammy Bell is out.
Robbie Mutch starts
Robbie Leitch is now on the bench

Falkirk results

Your say

What will the end result be?

Falkirk win
Airdrie win
Calculating results

That's what he said....

There will be a few players who are not playing that need to play. The only way they can get contracts elsewhere is to play football so I do expect maybe three or four to leave in January.
Ray McKinnon
