Succulent plants, ever popular with college students living in dimly lit dorms that don't allow pets, have seen a recent boom in attention lately, showing up in homes of real adults, in wedding bouquets, in smartphone apps, and even in jewelry. But now, thanks to Roz Borg, an Australian artist who creates said aforementioned live succulent jewelry, you can also have these tiny plants growing on your nails! Borg, who makes terrariums and jewelry out of succulents, said that she wanted to try to use the baby plants in a way that hadn't been done before. According to Borg:

I had been making real succulent jewelry and wanted to use the same application on something I had never seen baby succulents used on before. I Googled it and didn’t get any hits on anything, so I went for it.

The process for creating the manicures takes about two hours total and goes something like this:

How To Create A Succulent Manicure

  • 1. Attach baby succulents to acrylic nails using Oasis glue (a floral adhesive that won't hurt the plants)
  • 2. Wait for the acrylic nails to dry.
  • 3. Attach acrylic nails to your nails with nail glue.

Borg admits that the succulent nails are not really practical at all and definitely not something that will last long, BUT the best part of the manicure, other than looking insanely cool, is that you can plant the baby succulents after they come off, and they'll grow up to be perfectly healthy!
