Paul Manafort, a former campaign manager for Donald Trump during the 2016 election, is now facing an FBI investigation over the possibility of his working on behalf of Russian interests while campaigning for Donald Trump.
Manafort was forced out of his position as campaign manager when it was discovered that he had previously worked for disgraced Ukrainian former president Viktor Yanukovych and is currently under investigation by the Ukrainian government
Now, Manafort is suspected of coordinating Russian interference in the U.S. election. According to Representative Jim Himes, part of the committee who has been hearing the testimony of FBI Director James Comey:
Of all of the characters in and around the Trump campaign and administration, Paul Manafort’s relationships with Russians are by far the longest-standing and the deepest. And he has some pretty unsavory contacts.
