You think most like the existentialists! This was a philosophical movement that thrived in the 19th and 20th centuries, fathered by Nietzsche and Kierkegaard. At the forefront of the movement were Simone de Beauvoir and her lifetime partner, Jean-Paul Sartre, in France.

You're a very intuitive and cognizant of your own thoughts and behaviors, and you greatly enjoy using your head. You highly excel at logic puzzles and brain teasers. You thrive at giving others advice, but you don't always listen to your own. You can be very introverted and thoughtful, and you tend experience your emotions very strongly.

The existentialist is determined to give his/her own life meaning, and you find thinking about the purpose of our lives to be both thrilling and anxitey-inducing, but that's ok! Read more about existentialism here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Existentialism

You think most like the nihilists! This movement is rumored to have gained roots in Ancient Greece, but it's continued to grow through modern day. The nihilists believe that life isn't as meaningful as we think and inherent morality cannot exist.

You can be an extremely pessimistic person, and you only really place value on specific things. You like to surround yourself with only the most important items and people. Your friends value you as a fun and spontaneous person. You like to go outside the norm of modern society, both with your habits and beliefs. While a taste of chaos is not bad, it's good to keep it in check. Be careful, as sometimes you are prone to addiction.

You think most like the individualists! Perhaps the most famous is author Ayn Rand, but other thinkers such as Aristotle and Oscar Wilde wrote on individualism as well. The individualist strives to have self-reliance and pushes the importance of the individual over society.

You tend to be a more social person, though you find it really important to have alone time. You hold your beliefs very passionately and can sometimes come off as hard-headed, though you mean well. While you have some close friends, you choose to rely mostly on yourself and your own intuition. You are much more likely to choose quality over quantity with most aspects of your life.

You think most like the Taoists! Both a religion and a secular philosophy, Taoism arose with Lao Tzu BCE China. The Taoists believe in the Tao, or "the way", and show great reverence to nature, family, tradition, and patience.

You tend to be a very calm, intelligent, and down to earth person, and your friends value your ability to look at issues from all sides. You take great pleasure in the small things in life. While you find it easy to connect with nature and animals, you sometimes find it hard to connect to other human beings. You tend to be more on the introverted side, though when you form friendships, they are usually very lasting and loving.

Philosophical Optimism

Philosophical Optimism

You think most like the Philosophical Optimists! This was a movement and concept mostly founded by Leibniz in the 15th century as a response to biblical criticism. The optimists believe that the world we live in is the best possible world, and believe in the inherently good nature of man.

When people meet you they are charmed by your bubbly and kind nature. You have the ability to see the best in everyone and highly value your family and friendships. While sometimes you can second guess yourself, you easily keep a positive attitude. You tend to thrive at any job you are given. People are magnetically bound to your personality, and while you are quite extroverted, it's always important for you to have alone time to wind down.

You think most like the metaphysicist! This sect of philosophy, while still growing at a fast rate, was first mentioned by ancient Greek thinkers such as Thales and Aristotle. Metaphysics concerns itself on what actually exists and how humans know and experience that existence.

You are fantastic at looking at the bigger picture and making connections in your life. You tend to be a great problem solver and enjoy jobs that allow you to both interact with others and determine the best solutions to things. You tend to be more extroverted, and your friends admire your tenacity. Sometimes you can get caught up in day dreaming, but more often than not you're a very focused individual. You highly dislike not knowing the answer to something, so you find yourself loving to read and learn.
