Santa on the Chesterfield Canal - Tapton Lock
Santa will be doing some special trips on the John Varley narrowboat, every Saturday and Sunday from 24th November to 23rd December and on Wednesday 19th, Thursday 20th and Friday 21st December.
There is a present for every child and a mince pie and a drink for every adult.
All leave from Tapton Lock, on the Tesco roundabout in Chesterfield, S41 7JB.

Christmas at Hardwick
There will also be an advent trail through the park and gardens and in the restaurant warm up with a festive treat. The shop is also selling a lot of things to gift to family and friends
This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue..

Christmas Wreath Making at Chatsworth
Learn how to make a festive wreath from Chatsworth (DE45 1PP),foliage, cones and berries. This is an informal session with the garden team and the wreath is yours to take home at the end of the day. A great way to get you in the festive mood.

The Boxing Day Raft Race is held on 26th December every year from Matlock to Cromford Meadow on the River Derwent.

AT the local Nature Reserve, Carr Wood, there will be classes to teach you how to make natural Christmas decoration, along with face painting for the children.

Belper Christmas Food Festival
On Sunday 9 December Belper will play host to a mix of food and craft stalls, in the town centre
Open 10am till 3pm.
Along King Street, Campbell Street and Strutt Street.
After wards at 5pm there will be a talk about the Food and Festivities in Belper at No.28 Market Place,as Adrian Farmer celebrates historic food links and Christmas celebrations. £4 per person.
