Story is the first-of-its-kind article format that allows editors to "break up their story" into Elements of Engagement and provide their readers with an interactive and visually engaging journey - with no need for design skills. Use surveys, flip cards, quote elements, gifs, amps from Twitter / Instagram / YouTube and more, and turn static, dry elements into exciting elements that increase your dwell time, completion rates and sharing percentages.

Click the Create button and select Story

Each icon represents a creation option that is available to you

Select the element you want to create with a simple click on its icon!

It is important to know that there is no need to insert a title, a subtitle and a caption image, as in most cases you will want to use the titles on your article page (and your CMS)

If you still want to add a title, click on the Add header icon at the top of your page.

1

Text element

Type or cut and paste the text you want. You can use Bold, Italics, Underline, or a large letter at the beginning of a paragraph. Of course you can add hyperlinks, a marker that marks the parts you want to highlight (a marker with a movement that will appear along with the scroller scrolling down the article) and even Emojis

For your convenience, at the bottom of the text box there is a display based on the algorithm that counts the number of words, calculates the estimated reading time and evaluates accordingly - this is only a recommendation, but one based on a drop-off point versus long text blocks.

Note that you can open an additional text box each time and type in the relevant text (not all text together), adding new images and interactive elements.

2

The media element

Using the media element, you can integrate images, fonts, videos, and extras (like Instagram, Twitter, Google Maps, etc.) into your story - which you can of course also edit and upgrade.

  1. Upload a picture or video file (MP4 or MOV up to 250 MB) from your computer;
  2. Use a simple link to Image, Gif, YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Twitter, Google Maps and more (You just need the link, no need to insert code);
  3. Or use the internal search of Emojis, Giphy, YouTube or Getty!!! A huge free database of Getty Images and Getty Images is at your service and you can log in using the log-in option for your Getty account!

While the image is loading, you can continue to work on the item and not waste valuable time. If you want to upload an image file - you can do this either by searching your folders, or by simply dragging onto the Story screen.

In addition, there is a recent option in the Media screen that allows you to quickly access all the media you have uploaded recently (to this item or to your Playbuzz items) - which enables you to make a quick and easy reuse of images.

Now you can choose to edit the image, crop it as you want (or a style that will allow you to crop the image as desired) and of course add photo credit (under the Crop option).
In addition, you can also choose a more advanced editing of the image - add text, emojis, stickers, and even draw on it.

Add effects to an image.

You can also choose to blur the image to reveal it by clicking, or select the Zoom-In option to give the IMAGE movement.

Also for Videos, (The video file you uploaded, YouTube or Vimao that you have entered or selected from the Getty Images directory) you have an advanced editing option. If you hover on the video and choose editing, you can simply choose the relevant parts for you to edit. You can also add an "Instagram" filter of your choice to your Videos. (In the edit mode of the video, a magic wand icon will appear above it).

Drag the gray top bar control to the desired point and press the starting point in the bottom bar with the brackets. Also do this to set a desired endpoint.

Here is the "From the web" option in the Media window for links to Media and more

If you have a few media files that you want to upload to your item, you can always upload them together and not one by one in their folders on your computer. All you have to do is drag them to the area as you can see in the picture here:

As soon as your media files are uploaded, you can move them and change the order of their appearance, as well as select already ready structures for them: a list with numbering, a bulleted list, an interactive list and a quick creation of video - The video will be separated from it.

3

Quote element (can also be used without quotation marks)

Template One - allows a background image and selects the desired color

Video creation element

Create your own great video in just a few minutes without having to use graphics or video editing resources!

  • There are five different templates available with smart animations programmed for different uses.
  • Internal Search of Gifs, Emojis, Getty Images, Getty Videos
  • Choose colors, fonts, patterns to add another design dimension, slide layouts and formats between the slides, and set the length of the scene.
  • Advanced option to highlight specific letters / words, to highlight some text, to add background color, to increase header size or standard size, and more!
  • Select music from an existing library with more than 500 different tracks (of course you can also select without music)
  • Add a logo to the video player and optionally add a Watermark which plays throughout the entire video.
  • You have a cropping option for slides, adding a design filter to them, and an option to indicate that the original audio of the video (if any) will be heard during the relevant slide show
  • Select the video you want - standard 16:9, vertical 3:4 (excellent for mobile) or 1:1 (great for sharing on social networks). Another option is to choose a versatile mode so that viewers from desktop will receive a 16:9 video and viewers from Mobile will receive a 3:4 video

This is how you select the settings (under Settings)

In addition, you can keep the regular design selections for the video's visibility (with the correct color, font and logo). Just select the custom preset, click save preset and give it a suitable name. Next, the preset template you saved in the menu appears under the custom preset.

Choose from the settings at the bottom of the Play Card creation screen and determine what it will look like! You can select the color, text formatting, and location of the text on the card.

8

Poll element

Ask your audience a question:

Calculating results

You can choose between a template where the image (click on the camera icon will allow uploading / locating) in the background of the question and answers and a template where the image will appear above the question and answers (and also without image at all).

You can also choose between two types of templates for answers: in the first, a question and text answers one below the other. In the second, question and visual answers in circles or squares (head images for example are very appropriate here) side by side. You can also choose the colors you want for background / photo.

In addition, under the Settings icon:
You can set the type of vote you want - a secure survey (suspected repeat vote will activate the Captcha service);
Closing the vote, revealing / not disclosing the number of votes and their results; Enable / disallow the viewer from voting more than once; Add a summary card and logo for branding the survey.

9

Personality Quiz element

Start by adding the results of the quiz. For each result, add text and image, GIF or YouTube.

Now add your questions. Start by typing the text of your question where it says:
"Your question here".

Each question can also contain a picture or video that will appear in its background - you can upload your photos or videos or use the internal library of Getty Images and Getty Images, and of course YouTube.

Each question should have at least two answer options. Answer options can contain text, images or both! You can always add additional answer options by pressing - “Add answer”

Assign each answer to a final result by moving the scale and determining whether the association is non-existent / weak / neutral / strong.

Now, you can go to the next question by pressing
“Add another question”
And so on...

Once you have completed all your questions, including the answer options and the final results, all you have left is the final touch.

On the home screen make sure to enter an intriguing title and you can choose to add an image that will actually be the showcase of your quiz.

You can also choose the colors that will accompany the entire quiz.

10

Trivia element

In the first stage, add a prominent and attractive title to your trivia. You can also choose Untitled, for example, if you have chosen to combine one or two questions as a tool for promoting the story rather than as an entire trivia statement.

You can also choose between a visual layout (all questions appear together on the page one by one) and a slide show show (after answering a question, it will disappear and the next question will appear).

Now add your first question by clicking the blue "Add question" button. You can also choose Bold, Italics or Underline text and add Emojis.

You can add a downloaded image or an image from Getty Images/emoji or your video library, from YouTube or from the Getty Images directory to your question. You can also select a color background only by clicking the color bucket icon on the top right.

Write the possible answer options to your question right below the question itself. You can add additional answer options by clicking "Add answer" or deleting a reply option that you entered by pressing the X next to it.

Make sure that you have selected the correct answer option as correct. You can also mark multiple answer options as correct.

To add your visuals to your answers, choose the icon of the four squares to the right of the list. You can also add your image here, from the Getty Images or the emoji library.

After you have entered your question and all your answer options (and you've made sure to indicate the correct answer), you have the option to add feedback for your readers, that will appear immediately after answering the question and provide an extension for the correct answer.

See example here:

What is the capital of Washington State?

To add feedback, just click on the Feedback button above each question.

Now add more questions by clicking "Add another question" at the bottom of the question and its possible answers.

Now go to create the final results screen and tell your readers how much they know.

Click Final scores at the top of the screen, and create as many results as you want. For each screen you can of course add text and visuals (images or videos).

To add more results just click "Add another result".

The range of correct answers attributed to the result will be automatically calculated by the number of results and your questions.

You can also add a call to action at the bottom of the result to keep readers reading your article.

11

Create lists and rating lists

You can choose from three options for lists: numbering, bulleted, or interactive list - that is, Ranked list to rank the items in which they change the order of their appearance according to the number of votes they receive.

Above each element you add to your item (by clicking on its icon in the icon bar - for example, flip card or quote), you can see in the reserved header / header box (the title itself is not required of course) a small sign on the right of three dots and three lines next to them. Clicking this icon will allow you to choose from these three list forms.

You can also choose the color of the numbering / bold / voting icon in the interactive list.

If you choose an interactive list - you can always close the vote if you wish, and add the option to vote for X to vote against (downvote).

Information settings (this is completely optional.

On the left side of your screen you can control the settings of your item. You can set whether it is open to all (Public)
Or DirectLinkOnly - which will not be found on Playbuzz.com but only on your site.

You can also set the relevant language there (but even if you forget to do so - when you click Publish, you will be asked if the language of the item is the relevant language and when you choose the relevant language - everything will align). More choices are: Tags and Image selection that will appear when you share the item on social networks.

You can also see the "map" of the item and move the elements easily from place to place if you want to change their order. The option to change the position of the elements also exists by simply dragging the element to the desired position (see 3 icons that appear when the mouse is on an element on its left side). The two additional icons allow deletion or duplication of an element.

In addition, on the right side of each element you open, you can find the name of the element and click it to browse through examples to use that element that can inspire you.

Preview, Save and Publish

In the top right corner of the screen you can see the Preview option, the save / draft button and the publish button!

In the Preview window, you can choose between a desktop, mobile, and tablet display.

Once you have saved and published you story, all that remains is to take the code and embed it in your article page!

Good luck!!
