Kaldi's
Kaldi's
If you’re looking for a study spot in the heart of downtown Columbia, Kaldi’s is for you. Finding a seat is not that difficult in Kaldi’s spacious shop and there’s tons of outlets to charge your laptops. Their food is great and the atmosphere is super chill. Did I mention they make cool latte art?
Lakota
Lakota
When I think of Lakota I think of sophistication, of people that have their life together. Getting coffee at Lakota is like graduating from vanilla lattes and stepping up to americanos. Lakota is a little intimidating if you’re not a coffee connoisseur but the staff is friendly and you’ll be in good company.
Starbucks
Starbucks
So you like long lines and a carousel of people coming in and out at all hours of the day, and that’s fine. The wonderful thing about Starbucks is you always know what you’re going to get. Whether that’s fighting for a table when one miraculously opens up, or that your standard nonfat iced vanilla latte will always taste the same, Starbucks is a constant in life. Even if you’re a coffee newbie, you can’t go wrong with a Frappuccino, am I right?
Shortwave
Shortwave
A newcomer on the block, Shortwave has filled the small-batch coffee void in Columbia. Incredibly hipster inside, Shortwave is one of my favorite coffee shops to escape in for a long day of studying.
Dunn Bros.
Dunn Bros.
If you’re looking to escape downtown Columbia then look no further than Dunn Brothers. Located in the Forum Shopping Center, Dunn Bros. is an oasis of great coffee and open tables. Find your happiness with their Vanilla Iced Nirvana (seriously divine).
