We let out some sort of emotion when we see a movie poster online or in the long hallways of a movie theater. Whether it's a groan, a yelp from fear, or an air punch of excitement - movie posters are great at advertising upcoming films. They have an incredibly rich history and have evolved so much over the years. People believe that the first movie poster was created in the late 19th century by Marcellin Auzolle for a film called "L’Arroseur Arrosé (aka The Waterer Watered)".
The film was directed by no one other than the Lumière Brothers (credited as the two geniuses who invented cinema). This set the stage for some of the most iconic posters we've seen to date. Do you think you can guess a movie's rating by looking at the poster? Let's jump in and find out!
