7 Times the OU Bound App Saved Us From a Panic-Induced Meltdown
Enrolling in classes, filling out forms upon forms and juggling deadlines — it’s enough to make any incoming freshman's (and/or their parents') head spin. That’s why the University of Oklahoma did admitted students everywhere a huge favor by creating the OU Bound app, which simplifies the process of becoming a Sooner. The app's so helpful, it's saved us from having a panic-induced meltdown on (at least) seven occasions.

When the app notified us that we never applied for Camp Crimson
The cat-doing-Home-Alone-face emoji was never more appropriate than when we almost forgot to apply for Camp Crimson, aka the absolute best way to kick off a freshman year at OU. Praise be to the free OU Bound app for alerting us to that deadline for our favorite freshman orientation camp and saving us from missing out on those friendships that will last a lifetime.
When we were too busy reveling in how smart we are that we almost forgot to apply to the OU Honors College
It's everyone's dream to one day say they were an OU Honors College student, amirite? Well, we narrowly missed that opportunity by almost forgetting to apply. Thanks to that trusty OU Bound timeline, we'll get those coveted Latin locutions on our diploma: cum Laude, Magna cum Laude or Summa cum Laude (Translation: We're smart).
When we couldn't recall how to schedule an enrollment appointment and we needed to do it, like, yesterday
We've all been there: looking for some pertinent info and can't figure out, "Was it in a text? An email? A brochure? Did I write it on the back of a coaster from The Mont?!" The answer, when it comes to enrolling at OU, is always "Look in the OU Bound app." Seriously, when everything's in one place, does it get any easier?
When it pointed out we still hadn't picked a meal plan
We've been dreaming of that smorgasbord of Caf cereal options all year; how could we forget to choose our meal plan?! Oh wait, we didn't. OU Bound prompted us to sign our Housing Contract, select a meal plan and request a roommate, so we can rest assured we'll be getting our three squares a day come Fall 2016.
When it gave us the lowdown on OU Parking and how to buy a parking permit
Sure, the fear of not knowing where to park on campus or how to purchase a parking permit was starting to loom over us, but in came OU Bound to let us know we could park at the Lloyd Noble Center for free (for real) and walk us through getting our parking permit if we needed one. Parking woes won't plague this new Sooner.
When it alleviated our worries over applying for on-campus jobs
When we were looking for our perfect side hustle — like slinging drinks at the Oklahoma Memorial Union Starbucks, or being king of the tech playground at the One University Store — we weren't sure where to turn. But that little encouragement we got from OU Bound to explore on-campus jobs within the app was just what we needed to get our job search rolling.
When it walked us through every step — yes, EVERY step — of enrolling to OU like it ain't no thang
Sure, we could have drown in forms and had iCal notifications pinging during our every waking moment when it came to enrolling for college, but the fact is: We didn't. We had the OU Bound app. We think you get it by now: It helps Future Sooners navigate those tasks and deadlines from admission to OU through the first day of class and automatically updates items they’ve completed. It's that easy.
Now look at us adulting — like a boss.
