The Signal is hosting a Fantasy Movie League (FML) on fantasymovieleague.com! Similar to fantasy football, the game is centered on the weekend movie box office charts. The spring 2019 season will kick off Feb. 26 and last for 14 weeks.
The Signal is hosting a Fantasy Movie League (FML) on fantasymovieleague.com! Similar to fantasy football, the game is centered on the weekend movie box office charts. The spring 2019 season will kick off Feb. 26 and last for 14 weeks.
How it works
Each week players will be given $1,000 in FML Bux to purchase films to feature in their eight-screen Fantasy Cineplex. When the week ends, selections are locked and results of the box office weekend are revealed the following Monday.
The actual box office earnings of the movies you selected are added together to form a total score for that week. At the end of the season there will be an opportunity to win two prizes!

How to join The Signal's league
1. Once you’ve created an account, go to the page labeled “Leagues” and search “UHCL The Signal”
2. From there, click on it to be taken to the league and then click the red “join league” button
3. Then, use the password “uhcl” to enter the league. *Case sensitive*

PRIZES
After the 14 weeks we will be giving away TWO prizes. One prize will go the champion and the second prize will be drawn from a pool of all players who participated in at least 7 weeks this season.

Who can play?
We welcome all readers, family and friends to participate in the second season of this league! The game is available on the iOS and Andriod stores, but if you just want to play on your computer just make an account there.

There are lots of guides on how best to strategize your weekly line, but here are a few that can help you get started.
- Never leave a screen empty. Empty screens are penalties so even if you have the best line up that week, you could get 2nd place just because you left a few screens empty.
- Pick the movies you think will do well. This seems obvious, but many beginner players will pick what they think is the best movie in their personal opinion while another movie dominates the box office.
- Don't skip a week. Skipping a week or two can put you from first to last place in the overall rankings. The overall rankings is what will determine the 1st place winner.
