The Old Swan Inn (Llantwit Major) has been renovated by its owners Knife & Fork – we recently spoke to Managing Director Sean Murphy about the stove they purchased and why they chose Topstak.
Which stove did you purchase from Topstak?
We chose the Contura 52, which makes a superb addition to our newly refurbished dining area and the old-world atmosphere we’re trying to maintain throughout the inn.
Why did you choose this stove?
We picked the Contura 52 stove based on its output and design – it is an ideal fit to the overall décor of the restaurant area and provides an additional boost of comfort to guests looking to warm up from the chill with a hot drink or a bite to eat.
When did you first hear about Topstak?
I drive past their showroom regularly, so it was already on my radar as a popular place to purchase a wood burning stove from.
What was your experience with Topstak like?
This is the second time I've used Top Stack, and both times service has been excellent – everyone is welcoming and helpful, always ready to provide the information we need as well as any additional customer support to ensure our purchase and installation are dealt with efficiently.
Can you describe the experience you had in the showroom?
The Topstak showroom is lovely – I’ve been there a number of times and enjoyed my time in there every time I've visited. I have also ordered a stove for my house from there previously, as I am particularly taken with the feeling warmth and comfort which can be found the showrooms and wanted to recreate it at home.
What was the installation process like?
The installation was amazing. There was huge blockage because the chimney hadn’t been used for a long time. I was very impressed with the positive attitude of the guys that cleared it and the fact that the building was left clean and tidy despite how much mess they pulled out. Can't praise them enough!
What difference has the stove made to your Inn?
The stove creates a fantastic atmosphere as well as being very effective in heating the large dining room.
