We cracked open our cookbooks and selected some of our favourites:

ESSEntial Bread Loaf

It’s not a true Easter meal without a freshly baked loaf of bread, and cooking bread in an Esse range cooker is an absolute delight, according to satisfied customers. No surprise there – designed to provide warmth and comfort in addition to excellent cooking experience, the cookers from the ESSE range will brighten up your kitchen with their gorgeous colours and classic design, all while your delicious bread is baking in one of the ovens.

When you’re making bread in an ESSE cooker, you needn’t even bother with loaf tins – just shape the bread and place it directly on the floor of the hot oven for a deeper, well-developed flavour and a perfectly golden crust. Make sure your oven is cranked up high (‘very hot’ is the recommended setting) for best results.

AGA-tastic Lamb Shanks

Preparing the traditional Easter favourite, lamb shanks, is made easy with an AGA range cooker – a heritage staple of award-winning innovation, the AGA cooker is another fantastic option for keeping warm and adding a splash of colour to your kitchen while also ensuring cooking excellence.

Use the hotplate to brown the lamb shanks in a large frying pan before placing them in a cast-iron casserole dish. Follow up by consecutively frying the vegetables and boiling the sauce, before pouring over the meat and bringing all the contents of the casserole to the boil on the hotplate.

Transfer the dish to the Main Oven (120°C), or the Lower Oven for a slow cook, and roast until the meat is falling from the bone (approx. 2 ½ to 3 hours). Once the lamb is cooked, keep it warm in the Lower Oven alongside the vegetables, while you thicken the liquid into a sauce. When it’s ready, heat the whole dish through and serve with a side of mash.

EverHot Cross Bun Brioche

Just like chocolate eggs, fluffy bunnies and baby chicks, no Easter is complete without a hot cross bun inspired dessert. And what a better way to prepare this mouth-watering hot cross than in an Everhot range cooker. The traditional electric cookers in the Everhot range offer a combination of hand crafted good looks, in a palette of stunning colours, and quality cooking, for a relaxed, homely atmosphere in your kitchen.

Once you’ve prepared the dough for this tasty alternative to the traditional hot cross bun, leave it to prove in a warm place, like the top of the Everhot lid, until it doubles in size. When the dough has doubled and sat a while longer in a loaf tin with the candied citrus peel, brush the top with egg yolk and place in the middle shelf of one of the ovens and bake until well-risen and golden brown (approximately 20-25min).

Cool completely on a cooling wire and drizzle with the glaze before serving in thick slices with jam and butter. This sumptuous treat is best eaten on the day it is made, but could also be toasted after that, so you can make the sweetness last over the whole Easter weekend!

Treat your family to a real feast this Easter with these finger-licking recipes, which are sure to gather your household around the dinner table.
