Matthew knew he had to act quickly in order to save the girl.

Her neck was stuck as she dangled from the ride, making the situation even more dangerous.

"I said: 'It's 'OK! It's OK to let go, I'll catch you, honey. I'm not going to let you fall."

Matthew Howard, Sr.

Howard, along with his 21 year old daughter Winchell, were able to catch the girl and break her fall, themselves hitting the ground in the process.

Their quick thinking saved the girl's life.

It's really terrifying to watch.

The theme park, a Six Flags in New York, inspected the ride after the incident.

The Six Flag workers said the ride was working as intended, with no issues. The person who captured the video of the girl's fall, Loren Kent, thinks differently:

I'll never let my family on that ride again.

Six Flags released the following statement:

There does not appear to be any malfunction of the ride, but we have closed the attraction until a thorough review can be completed. We are reviewing our internal procedures to ensure the safety and security of our guests and team members."

Matthew is just glad he was able to assist.

I'm just glad we could be there to help. We were in the right place at the right time."

Matthew Howard, Sr.

Matthew's quick thinking proves that superheroes are real!

And the girl who fell is going to be OK!
