This building, located above Tom’s Restaurant, is home to the Center for Climate Systems Research and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies, because (unsurprisingly) Columbia is closely affiliated with NASA.
Originally a milk bottling plant, this building on 125th Street houses the Center for Jazz Studies, among other departments.
Showing off with a green, white, and red flag, this building on Amsterdam Avenue is still home to a Columbia department, although it’s technically owned by a foreign government.
Located at 116th Street and Morningside Drive, Columbia spent $20 million renovating this building last decade.
Once the proposed site of a revamped Health Services location, this building on 113th Street between Broadway and Riverside is one I’d never heard of before researching obscure buildings for this article.
This building is one of Columbia’s most recent projects, all the way on 131st Street between Broadway and 12th Avenue. It is currently an administrative building.
