Peanut Butter
Peanut Butter is a serious comfort food but, it also has benefits too. It can help you lose weight huh who knew? PB has lots of Protein and Fiber which keeps you full longer. You really only need a few spoon fulls to keep you full for a long period of time. Peanuts also lower the risk of Heart Disease later on in life, Diabetes. Also National Peanut Butter Day is January 24! Yay for Peanut Butter.
Ice Cream oh yesss
Ice Cream oh Ice Cream nowadays any flavor you could think of is out there. Ice Cream just makes you feel like a kid again and is plain good. A little fact; Ice Cream was put into Industrial production in Boston in 1851. The recipe was also discovered by Christopher Columbus! National Ice Cream day is Sunday July, 19.
Spaghetti and Meatballs
MMMM I could eat Spaghetti for dinner at least once a week. It is definitely a comfort food. I prefer my spaghetti dish to be Al Dente instead of well... mush and getting the spaghetti to be perfect Al Dente takes time usually around 5-7 minutes pasta should be perfect. It is said that the twirling of the fork technique is learned in childhood in Italy. I mean I have never eaten Spaghetti with a spoon either. In my opinion Spaghetti is the best when it is made with fresh tomatoes and not paste and a little bit of red wine vinegar added. Oh it's the best!
Fried Chicken
Ooh it's Crunchy, there's white meat or dark meat, tons of sauces to dip it in or just eat it plain. I love the crunch of Fried Chicken and a Cajun Seasoning on the Fried Chicken makes the taste pop! Fried Chicken is also very popular in Asia. Monday July, 6 is National Fried Chicken Day!
French Fries
Shoelace, Curly, Steak, so many different types of French Fries out there, but where did they come from? Well they are called French Fries but there has been an ongoing argument over whether or not that is true. Belgians call Fries Frites and claim they originated them and then again Spain also claims the French Fries as their own, the mystery goes on. Who cares where they came from they are freaking delicious! French Fries were Thomas Jefferson's favorite snack. Also I guess this is a thing stealing french fries from another person in your group in a restaurant is one of the biggest reasons for a quarrel at a restaurant huh probably something I would do. Don't touch my fries. Again another crunchy, savory food. I prefer my French fries shoe lace style, cooked in oil and butter and salt and dipped in ranch or mayo.
Gravy
Oh I love gravy! It goes well on mashed potatoes, french fries, ham, turkey, you name it. I love it when gravy is made from the juices from the meat, flour, salt and butter. Also very savory for salt lovers. Gravy originated in France. Instead of water some encourage to use wine, beer or even Peanut Butter!
Cheeseburgers
It's a delicacy in America was also Originated in the USA by a man named Lionel Sternberger no joke! Cheeseburgers can be made a number of ways with bacon, different types of cheeses, with fried onions, peanut butter. A burger however in my opinion is just better made at home on the grill. Fast food burgers are gross and full of toxic waste blechhh I would rather make my own. I take mine done, with cheddar cheese, fried onions, a pickle slice, ketchup and mayo and a little horseradish sauce.
