Ocean survival isn't for the weak and if a creature has any hopes of not ending up on the bottom of the food chain, they've got to use every asset possible. Obviously, hiding is one of those assets and no creature is better at blending in than the octopus. Masters of disguise, these chameleons of the sea can change color in an instant to match their surroundings.

This skill not only helps them evade predators, but also works to their advantage when hunting for their next meal. What really has marine biologists perplexed about the octopus's camouflage abilities is how well its able to match its color to its surroundings, despite being color blind.

This works to their advantage so well that often times they're nearly invisible.

Now you see it, now you don't

Can you spot these masters of disguise hiding in the photos?

Not only are octopuses able to change color and size, but they can actually change the texture of their skin to better blend in. By adding ridges, bumps and spikes to their skin, they became that much harder to spot for potential attackers or prey.

"Back off, bub!"

What about cats?

Now that you've found these hiding octopuses, see if you can find these camouflaged cats.
