Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson

Percy is a brave, spirited natural leader, and is willing to risk his life to save friends, family, strangers, and sometimes even enemies. He has a sarcastic and smart sense of humor, a laid-back demeanor, and has earned the respect of all the Olympians, including Artemis (who strictly dislikes men), Dionysus (who hates most heroes because of what happened with Ariadne), and Hades (who generally hates people). He also earned the trust and respect of the Romans of Camp Jupiter (who usually don't trust Greeks). Percy remains true and never goes back on his word. However, he is definitely not perfect. Percy is somewhat short-tempered, and thus has trouble controlling his anger (such as when he sees bullying) and tends to do or blurt out things before thinking, no matter the consequences, causing him to get into a lot of trouble. He also feels responsible for everyone and anything which goes wrong.

Annabeth Chase

Annabeth Chase

Annabeth loves architecture, and spends her free time designing new buildings and visiting national monuments. Her fatal flaw is hubris, otherwise known as excessive pride: she thinks she can do anything and do it well, even better than the gods. Percy gains insight into this flaw during The Sea of Monsters, when he sees Annabeth's vision as she listens to the song of the Sirens.

Annabeth can be very caring but possessive of the people she loves. For example, she is very anxious of losing Percy to another girl like Rachel or Calypso.

Annabeth is very harsh and judgmental during first meetings, but after winning her approval she is very loyal. She is very strong-minded and equally stubborn, she is also incredibly brave and daring. Annabeth shows many signs of dauntlessness, courage and determination. She has a lot of nerve. Annabeth is also an intellectual genius, as well as clever and witty. She's also analytical, strategic, and is very wise.

Thalia Grace

Thalia Grace

Thalia is a brave, strong and caring girl, though at times she can be stubborn, prideful, and assertive much like her father Zeus. She likes to be in charge and give out orders to people and becomes very angry if they are disobeyed (normally by Percy). She also has a bit of a temper, as shown during the Capture the Flag match against the Hunters when Percy left his post causing them to lose the game, so she shocked him with electricity. In some ways she's very similar to Artemis, as she enjoys being around her fellow Hunters and is a great fighter. She is also very loyal to those she trusts and respects, as she is willing to risk her life to protect them (for example, when she sacrificed herself on top of Half-Blood Hill). Unlike her fellow Hunters, Thalia apparently does not mind being around boys, as shown in The Lost Hero.

Nico Di Angelo

Nico Di Angelo

He is clueless and very inquisitive: he is curious and questioning and likes Percy a lot like a big brother (though it is later revealed in The House of Hades that he has secret romantic feelings for him), and begins annoying Percy with his ceaseless questions, especially when he asks if Annabeth Chase was his girlfriend, which makes Percy consider "stuffing him in a meat flavored sack and throwing him to the wolves." He is excited about finding out that he is a demigod (immediate response: "Cool!"), and compares monsters to Mythomagic creatures. He feels abandoned when his sister Bianca, who practically acts as his parent, becomes a Hunter of Artemis. When she goes on a quest, Nico makes Percy promise to protect her. After her death, he develops a long-lasting grudge toward Percy for letting her die. Once he realizes that he is a son of Hades, he casts away his childhood interests and runs off on his own.

Luke Castellan

Luke Castellan

Luke showed his darker side as a villain for most of the series, so his character was mostly described as "evil", however he was a hero in the end, so his character did malevolent things but was ultimately good at heart. It was shown that even after he had become a traitor, he still hesitated to harm Thalia or Annabeth, his old loyalty holding out even in his desperation for vengeance. In this way, he is more 'heroic' in the old sense of the terms, such as the stories of Theseus, Jason or Hercules. Apparently, Kronos chose Luke to host him because he had a strong spirit.

Grover Underwood

Grover Underwood

Grover is usually cheerful and upbeat, yet he chews on furniture when he is nervous. He cries when he is upset, which makes him an easy target for bullies. He can often be philosophical. He sometimes mopes around a bit though. He has an obsession with coffee (due to feeling the presence of Pan in New Mexico while drinking it), tin cans, and enchiladas. He believes that cheese enchiladas are better than chicken ones. This may be due to the fact he is a vegetarian. His girlfriend is Juniper, a wood nymph. They deeply care for one another.

Rachel Dare

Rachel Dare

Rachel is very artistic, intelligent, and kind. She enjoys volunteering for charity events to help schools in the area to keep their art programs open. She is also very open minded, being able to accept that Percy is a demigod and that monsters do exist. She can be very blunt at times and has a habit of talking a mile a minute, as shown when Percy swung his sword at her by mistake, thinking a monster was behind him.
