Andrew, a 14-year-old autistic boy, had never had a birthday party before this year. He was too afraid no one would show up. Often misunderstood by children his own age, Andrew would instead invent hordes of pugs to be his imaginary friends. But this year, his older sister, McKenna Little, wanted him to have a real birthday party with real friends and real pugs.

I thought, ‘I'm going to have a pug party!’ I was just planning on seeing if one of my friends had one and could show up to a little BBQ that my mom and I were going to have at the park on the day of his birthday.

After Little's post on Facebook asking friends with pugs to meet them for her brother's birthday went viral, reaching the Pug Rescue Nation of Los Angeles, who got more than 50 pug owners to visit Andrew's birthday party with more than 80 pugs in tow, Andrew completely overjoyed.

He was in shock. He kept asking ‘Is that a pug?!’ to each dog because he just couldn't believe his eyes. As if he didn't believe it was real life. I was so emotional. Everyone there was crying.

Pugs of all shapes and sizes greeted Andrew for an amazing celebration.

And in the end, it was the happiest day of his life.

He told me it was the best birthday he has ever had and that he wants to do this every year.
